Regarding PHP SDK Version

I can see Commercetools has version 1 and 2 of PHP SDK. I am new to Commercetools, so I choose version 2 SDK and installed the SDK using composer command as per https://docs.commercetools.com/sdk/php-sdk-getting-started#install-the-php-sdk but I can only see the Vendor folder however when I clone the github repository https://github.com/commercetools/commercetools-sdk-php-v2 I can see more files and folders. So I want to understand which one I should use for the start. Please guide. Thanks in Advance.

Can we customize the Merchant Center using PHP ?

I am new to Commercetools and I created a free trial to explore it. Once I signed up for free trial, I got the access to Merchant Center and I installed the sunrise SPA demo data for testing. I placed one test order from SPA but in Merchant Center, I cannot see the order edit feature. Then I got to know from the below link that the order edit is not possible from Merchant Center and it can be through Custom Application. I have one question here, basically I am a PHP developer, and I saw there is a PHP SDK available in commercetools. Can I create a custom application using PHP or that has to be done from React or JS as I can see here it mentioned React Js knowledge is needed.https://docs.commercetools.com/merchant-center-customizations/custom-applicationsPlease help me to understand this. CustomObjects vs Studio Config - What to use ?

Having done multiple implementations on the commercetools (CoFE+CoCo) platform and also using the old setup vs the new and improved Multitenant option -- we always have this question as to where do we keep this config - project.yml (old setup), studio config (project level or tastic or datasource config), custom object in commercetools or any other option. There is always this confusion around whether we should use one area vs other? Will it be good to manage if everything is in one place ? Studio is a business user tool, should we have only what they have to edit there as against any other service configurations - search (algolia) config / cms (amplience/contentful/contentstack) config / internal payment systems config / etc., How do we manage UI labels / success or error messages etc., If we add the config to frontastic studio config -- its sent in the call to controller via the actionContext in every call - invariably of whether the config is needed for the call or not -- which mean

commercetools Frontend is a great website builder and offers some CMS capabilities. If you are actively using the service, have you integrated an additional CMS? If so, which CMS did you choose? Ideas for Extensions and Add-ons?

We are currently brainstorming for new development ideas around composable commerce. I’m curious what type of projects the community is hoping to see. There are plenty of React frontends floating around and we probably don’t need another one… so what kind of interesting extensions would you be interested in? Maybe a Merchant Center Custom Application, commercetools Connect service, additions to commercetools Frontend launchpad, or something else entirely?We have some ideas for our next open-source project, but would love to understand what the commercetools’ community really needs.

Shipping / Tax Calculation

In one of our commercetools implementations, we need to integrate with Avalara for tax calculations and have some custom logic to calculate shipping cost - the shipping can be a fixed cost defined at the variant level or have to be fetched from UPS based on the variant attribute. To make a pure composable implementation instead of having the logic written in Apihub, we had different api extensions for shipping and tax calculations which are invoked when the cart has items and has shipping address and has an anonymousid/customerid populated.This worked perfectly fine in local/stage environments but when we tried to validate this in Production -- we had this issue where the extensions werent called in any sequence (as the document mentions) so we had erratic behaviour and we saw the shipping gets calculated after tax and wiping out tax values -- etc, We ended up merging the two extensions into one but this means the extension should return within 2 secs which was a problem, so we had to

Unique ID generator for service calls for log tracking

In one of our implementations we need to make quite a few internal service calls and the services expect the calls to have a unique request id (max 12 chars). Whats the best way to generate them from Apihub? With the elastic pods expansion we wont be able to use npm uuid as it cannot be made unique across a cluster of pods (if i am correct). We tried to use custom objects in commercetools to store and retrieve a running number and increasing that on every call to get an incremented value -- but with this being called from every pod and there are so many of them during peak load + there are so many different services that need a running number, we see a lost of 409s due to incrementing the custom object value. Any one has done such a thing in their implementations ? Any suggestion / pointers ?

Standalone vs Embedded Pricing

Hearing about other customer or partner examples to share with others is always helpful when sharing commercetools roadamp announcements. One feature update that continues to be on our Roadmap is updates to Standalone pricing. Some early projects may have gone live with ct Embedded pricing, but now that commercetools has continued to enhance Standalone pricing, I think it would make sense for a project to consider cutting over.Are there any other reasons why someone has decided to switch to Standalone pricing? (Outside of some of the obvious reasons like limit improvements). Was this a high LOE for a team to do?
