API Extension OR Microservice?

commercetools gives amazing flexibility in extending the system and adding functionality. Two major approaches include creating an API Extension or putting a new microservice in front of the commercetools API.It’s often confusing on when to use each approach. How does Support work at commercetools?

My name is ​@Jenny Jenny and I am part of the Support Team at commercetools. I thought I could lift the curtain of how we work and how we can help you! 😊 You may ask yourself one of the following questions: Where can I reach out to Support and what do I need to reach you?And there is a simple answer to this, anyone can reach out to us through our Support portal at support.commercetools.com you just need to create a user account with Jira.  Where do I open a ticket then?Currently you have to choose a product once you reach our portal depending on the nature of your request.  Composable Commerce → the core APIs including carts, orders, customers, business units, products and more, the surrounding SDKs, Merchant Center, Audit Log, Notifications sent for API calls. Import/Export APIsis the backend for anything based on commercetools Frontend → API Hub, Frontend Delivery, Sandbox, Replicator. CI/CD, Studio, CLIis the base for your storefront looks and integrations Connect →

Currently the project contains actions to import, export and translate data.While the repository is part of the commercetools organization, you will not get official support for the code. It is really just some code to help you move quicker.

Customer Authentication using JAVA SDK

Recently, I needed to generate a token to log a customer into a web app based on Commercetools. Using the Java SDK to communicate with Commercetools, I found that their Authorization API offers several authorization flows: Client Credentials: Creates a token for an API Client. Password Flow: Creates a token using the customer's login credentials. Anonymous Session Flow: Creates a token for an anonymous session (for a customer who might log in or sign up later). Refresh Token Flow: Refreshes an access token. In this article, I'll focus on generating an authentication token using the Password Flow. Commercetools provides an out-of-the-box method called GlobalCustomerPasswordTokenSupplier for this purpose. Hello there! As well all know, sometimes we wake up in the morning and everything goes smoothly from the moment we open our eyes: the sun is shining, our coffee tastes amazing, we go for a run and actually enjoy it, even our usually grumpy boss seems to be in a good mood. GraphQL over Rest API?
