Hi there!

We spend a third of our lives at work, so making the experience as pleasant as possible it’s key to surviving all those hours glued to our screens and keyboards. Some people light candles, others swear by their standing desks and mini treadmills combinations and others simply like to listen to music or relaxing sounds.

However, not everybody thinks the same. Call me crazy, but sometimes a lot of background noise (TV on, a podcast, etc) really helps me focus. Other times, I prefer nice, soft music. Total silence? That would never work for me.

What about you folks? Answer the poll and let us hear your reasoning behind your answer, I’m very, very curious.

Depends on what I’m working on. In-depth work requires silence. Repetitive boring work can include music.

What about background noise, like in an office? Does it help you focus or do you have to use noise-cancelling headphones?

(Btw, I don’t know much about you James, but for some reason I was expecting the total silence answer from you! 😆)

Silence is best, background noise is OK. Background music is distracting.

Seems fair. I imagine that your dream scenario must be working from home.

Let’s see what other members have to say, I wonder who will be the one who listen to three different things at the same time to be able to focus. 🤔
