Hey team,as part of my onboarding a couple of years ago I started to develop a custom merchant center application that helped me to understand how:Custom Applications work How to deploy Custom Applications How the commercetools Composable Commerce APIs functionEver since we are using it in presales to do little things that the Merchant Center does not out of the box, e.g. like visualising “States” or “Types”.Since “Sharing is Caring” we thought, we make it available for all of you to have a look at it and use it.https://github.com/commercetools-demo/commercetools-visualizerBe aware, this is just a repository, no support or maintenance promises are attached. This repository has nothing to do with commercetools as a company  except that the code was mainly created by people working for commercetools.

So if you ever need to do anything with our APIs, it might be a good starting point. Currently the project contains actions to import, export and translate data.While the repository is part of the commercetools organization, you will not get official support for the code. It is really just some code to help you move quicker.

Customer Authentication using JAVA SDK

Recently, I needed to generate a token to log a customer into a web app based on Commercetools. Using the Java SDK to communicate with Commercetools, I found that their Authorization API offers several authorization flows: Client Credentials: Creates a token for an API Client. Password Flow: Creates a token using the customer's login credentials. Anonymous Session Flow: Creates a token for an anonymous session (for a customer who might log in or sign up later). Refresh Token Flow: Refreshes an access token. In this article, I'll focus on generating an authentication token using the Password Flow. Commercetools provides an out-of-the-box method called GlobalCustomerPasswordTokenSupplier for this purpose. Hello there! As well all know, sometimes we wake up in the morning and everything goes smoothly from the moment we open our eyes: the sun is shining, our coffee tastes amazing, we go for a run and actually enjoy it, even our usually grumpy boss seems to be in a good mood.
